This memory koala bear is made from a shirt or the clothing of someone who has passed or matured. It is a perfect way to memorialize a loved one! The koala bear is an excellent size to hold at night or display on a shelf. It can make a very touching gift for a friend or family member who has lost someone they love. 
This koala bear was 100% designed and created by me, Sunny Rodriguez.  Sorry, I am not selling the pattern for others to sew at this time.
The koala bears measure 15" from the heel to the top of the head. When in a sitting position, they are 11" from the bottom to the top of the head. We do not offer the option to scale down the size of the pattern. All bears are cut from the same pattern size. The stomach measures 8" wide by 6" tall. If you have a shirt that you would like the logo on the koala bear, the logo must fit within these dimensions.  Sadly anything bigger would be cut off but could be placed in other places on the koala bear.

T-shirts, golf polos, chiffon dresses, women's polyester shirts, sweatshirts, thermals, knits or heavily worn, blankets, thin or see through fabrics. You can find the option to purchase stabilizer in my shop for an $8 fee.
Any fabric that is stretchy or see through require stabilizer. 
No two koala bears will look alike. These koala bears are handmade.  The fabric will dictate how the koala bear will look. Firm fabrics like denim will make a stiff solid koala bear while a koala bear made from a sweatshirt will make a softer cuddly koala bear. If you are curious if a fabric will work or if you need to purchase stabilizer, please contact me! 
****Fabrics we do not accept***
Leather jackets, blazers, coats made of down feathers, and fur coats are not recommended for this item. 
Neck options

We offer a Collar, Bow made from the shirt fabric or a ribbon. Your koala bear can also have a bare neck meaning nothing is added. 
Koala bears will receive collars only if the shirt had a collar. We use the original collar of the shirt. If your shirt has an unusually large collar, adding a bow or ribbon may be a better choice.
 Other garments that do not come with a collar or button-down strip will receive a bow if there is enough fabric left. 
I can also make a bow from purchased fabric.  
Please message me if you want the fabric to be a specific color. Or you can send another item of clothing to make the bow with.
👁Eye and nose options

The nose of the koala bear is black. If you plan to send a black fabric it may not stand out. We offer black, brown, blue, lime green safety eyes or felt eyes/nose. Felt eyes and nose are recommended for children.

Medium long or short sleeve shirt will make one koala bear.
Men's XL long sleeve shirt can make 2 15" Cute koala bears. 
The price shown in the listing is for one koala bear. If you would like to purchase more, you can enter the desired amount in quantity. 
For 2 koala bears made from one shirt,
if the shirt that is provided has a collar, one koala bear will have a collar, the other koala bear will have a bow or a collar made from the cuff. A short sleeve XL shirt will only make one koala bear. Clothing can shrink in the wash or run smaller in size. I see this more often in women's clothing. 
Adult small or smaller size shirts will not make a koala bear. However, you can provide more than one shirt to help complete a koala bear.  I suggest long-sleeved shirts be sent.
I can also purchase matching fabric to help complete one koala bear if two shirts are not available.

Embroidery can be placed on the chest or foot. Only 3 rows of 7 letters will fit on one foot.  The chest can have Name birthdate and passing date or the poem "This is the shirt I used to wear"
For embroidery, we offer:
No embroidery
Embroidery on one foot
Embroidery on both feet 
Poem or name and dates on the chest
Embroidery on the chest and one foot 
No embroidery means no poem on the chest or embroidery on the feet. 
We offer black , white or red embroidery thread. We choose which color will show up the best. 
 Please be very sure about the correct spelling of the name or accurate date you give me to embroider. Please provide your embroidery information in the personalization box or note to seller section while checking out. We copy and paste the information into our embroidery program. We do not correct spelling or grammar. 
The bear's right foot is on the left side of the picture. Please provide embroidery with the right foot first, when purchasing embroidery on both feet.
For example: 
if you wanted the name Bob Jones on both feet of the bear, you would write it like this-
Right foot would be Bob, left foot would be Jones. 
Each Koala bear is specifically designed to use the details available to resemble the the shirt as much as possible. If the shirt has a button collar, zipper collar, button down strip, buttoned shoulder tabs, buckles, lace, sequins, beads, embroidery or a picture, I do my best to add it to the bear. The bear will not receive these details if a customer requests they be left off or if it won't cut or sew.  Details that interfere with the construction of the bear will have to be left off. If you are unsure if a detail can be kept, please contact me. You are welcome to send pictures of your garment to gain a clearer understanding.
Memory items are made from clothing that has been washed and worn. They can be fragile. These items are not a toy and are meant to be on display. It is recommended that you wash the clothing before sending it. It is not recommended to place the completed Bear in a washing machine , submerge in water or place in a dryer. Stuffing that is not dried all the way through can mold .

Customers cover the cost to ship their items to me. Please write your order number on the outside of the package. Writing it in more than one location on the box is very helpful! 
Please use your name that is written on your Etsy account in your return address.  
I will provide the address after purchase to send your washed clothing to! 
Please keep the tracking number of your clothing in a safe place.  You can send me a picture of it for safe keeping. Please do not ship your precious items with stamps. Paying the proper postage will ensure your package arrives safely. Please ship your clothing 1-3 days after purchasing. I will message you, when your clothing has arrived and provide you with a ship by date.
